Brenna & Robert’s Elegant Garden Party Wedding

Some weddings are elegant. Some are fun. Some are deeply personal. And then there are weddings that manage to be all three while still feeling completely effortless.

Brenna and Robert’s June 27th wedding at Lionsgate Event Center was exactly that.

From the beginning, the couple wanted their wedding day to feel like them. They envisioned an elegant garden party filled with sculptural florals, lush greenery, and subtle pops of color, but they also wanted the day to feel calm, relaxed, and easy. No unnecessary stress. No pressure to make things feel overly formal. Just a beautiful day spent celebrating with the people they love most.

And that vision came through in every single detail.

Their day took guests throughout both the Gatehouse and Dove House, beginning with a garden ceremony, moving into a lively cocktail hour, and ending with dinner, dancing, and plenty of memorable moments back at the Gatehouse.

Most importantly, Brenna and Robert were authentically themselves from beginning to end. Their love for each other, their families, and their friends was one of the most noticeable parts of the entire celebration.

A Ceremony Framed by the Gatehouse

Brenna and Robert did things a little differently when it came to their ceremony.

For their reverse ceremony, the couple stood against the beautiful stained glass window inside the Gatehouse while their guests gathered outside in the grassy area facing them. Large white umbrellas were placed throughout the lawn, keeping guests comfortable in the summer sun while adding to the clean, garden-inspired look.

The ceremony florals by Statice Floral Design were a major part of the overall design. Sculptural floral pillars were staggered throughout the space, with cascading arrangements that incorporated lush greens, begonia maculata, smokebush, and other architectural elements. The neutral palette was accented with small pops of color, creating a look that felt elevated without being overly structured.

The result was exactly what Brenna and Robert had envisioned: elegant, organic, and a little unexpected.

As guests arrived, they were serenaded by Nexus Strings, whose live string quartet also provided the music for the ceremony itself. There was something especially fitting about live strings filling the garden while guests settled in and waited for the couple to begin their next chapter together.

Sunset, Jazz, and a Little Bit of Magic

After the ceremony, guests made their way over to the Dove House for cocktail hour.

Instead of rushing through the transition into dinner, Brenna and Robert wanted their guests to have time to relax, explore the grounds, enjoy the setting sun, and simply be together. And the cocktail hour delivered.

Greens Point Catering created an impressive stacked grazing table and a full-service oyster bar, giving guests plenty to enjoy while they mingled. The bar, provided by Party Liquor, offered beer and wine along with three signature drinks chosen for the celebration: a very dirty martini, an espresso martini, and a “Spaghett,” a playful combination of beer and Aperol.

A jazz trio provided live music throughout cocktail hour, creating an easygoing soundtrack for the evening. And then there was a walking magician who made his way throughout the Dove House grounds, the magician surprised guests with close-up tricks and added an unexpected bit of fun to the afternoon. It was one of those details that perfectly captured the spirit of Brenna and Robert’s wedding. Beautiful and elegant, but never taking itself too seriously.

An Elegant Garden Party Back at the Gatehouse

When it was time for dinner, everyone headed back to the Gatehouse for the reception.

The couple’s garden party vision continued throughout the space, with Music Box Productions bringing their lighting and design vision to life. Colorado Party Rental provided the reception rentals, while neutral linens kept the overall look soft and sophisticated. The florals from Statice Floral Design once again took center stage, with greenery and sculptural arrangements bringing dimension and personality to the room.

Nothing felt overly complicated. Instead, each element had a purpose, creating a reception that felt polished while still maintaining the relaxed atmosphere Brenna and Robert wanted.

Dinner Served Their Way

Rather than a traditional plated dinner, Brenna and Robert chose to serve food via stations, giving their guests the opportunity to try a little bit of everything.

The Asian station featured sesame ginger salad, crispy veggie spring rolls, steamed bao buns, tempura cauliflower, teriyaki brisket, and Asian-inspired slaw.

The Tapas station included pan con tomate, summer vegetable paella, gambas shrimp, patatas bravas, and quinoa cakes.

And the Italian station brought out the comfort food with tossed salad, bread rolls, spaghetti and meatballs, and fettuccine Alfredo.

It was the kind of dinner that encouraged guests to get up, wander around, try something new, and keep the conversation going. Exactly the kind of relaxed experience the couple had hoped for.

A Sweet Ending

Dessert was just as thoughtful. PlayHaus Bakery created a stunning vegan sweetheart cake that fit seamlessly into the couple’s overall aesthetic. Alongside it was a dessert bar filled with vegan peanut butter chocolate bars, vegan tiramisu cups, lemon meringue cups, and slices of chocolate and vanilla cake.

It was a beautiful spread, but more importantly, it gave guests plenty of options to enjoy throughout the rest of the evening.

Toasts and First Dance to Mitski

Before the dance floor opened, the evening continued with heartfelt toasts from some of the people closest to Brenna and Robert, including both fathers, Brenna’s best friend, and Robert’s best friend.There were plenty of laughs, plenty of happy tears, and plenty of reminders of just how loved this couple is.

Then came one of the sweetest moments of the evening: Brenna and Robert’s first dance. The couple chose “My Love Mine All Mine” by Mitski, a song that felt especially fitting for a wedding so centered around their love for one another and the people who have supported them along the way.

It was an intimate moment before the dance floor opened and the rest of the night turned into a celebration.

And Then It Was Time to Dance

Once the formalities were over, the dance floor filled up quickly.

DJ Maestro kept the party going all night while Party Liquor kept drinks flowing. Selah’s coffee cart gave guests an extra boost of energy as the evening went on, because nobody was quite ready for the night to end.

MiHi brought in a photo booth that quickly became another favorite among guests. Statice Floral Design helped create a stunning floral backdrop for the booth, while Girl Friday Rentals added one of the most fun details of the night: a vending machine that dispensed custom stickers for guests to take home.

And above the dance floor, Music Box Productions created an especially dreamy atmosphere with draping and a disco ball that reflected light throughout the room.

The result was a dance floor that stayed busy well into the night.

A Wedding That Felt Like Them

There are a lot of beautiful details we could point to from Brenna and Robert’s wedding. The stained glass ceremony backdrop. The sculptural florals. The oyster bar. The signature cocktails. The walking magician. The dreamy first dance. The disco ball. The custom stickers.

But what we remember most is how genuinely “them” the entire day felt.

Brenna and Robert wanted an elegant garden party, but they also wanted to be able to breathe, slow down, and actually enjoy their wedding day. They wanted their guests to feel comfortable. They wanted good food, good music, plenty of things to do, and most of all, time together.

They created exactly that.

Their wedding was beautiful without feeling overly formal, thoughtfully designed without feeling overdone, and full of personality without ever losing its sense of calm.

It was a celebration of two people who clearly love each other deeply and who are surrounded by an incredible community of family and friends.
