A Colorado Wedding Inspiration Shoot: From Lionsgate to the Mountains

What happens when you combine the timeless charm of a historic wedding venue with the natural beauty of the Colorado mountains? You get a wedding day that feels completely unforgettable.

This August, Lionsgate Event Center partnered with Blue Sky Mountain Ranch for a styled shoot that brought that vision to life. The idea was to show couples that they do not have to choose between the historic character of a venue like Lionsgate and the mountain views that make Colorado so special. With a mountain ceremony followed by a celebration at Lionsgate, couples can experience both.

The Vision

For this shoot, we wanted to create something that felt romantic, dreamy, and distinctly Colorado. Rich purples, soft greens, lush textures, and delicate details came together to create a look that felt timeless while still feeling fresh and unexpected.

Lionsgate's historic details provided the perfect setting. The stained glass, warm wood, and garden inspired atmosphere brought an effortless sense of character to the design, while the florals from Ash & Ether added layers of texture and color throughout the space.

The floral arrangements were intentionally organic and abundant, with deep purple blooms, soft greenery, and unexpected textures that complemented the natural beauty of the property. Paired with flowing linens and delicate table details, the result was elegant without feeling overly formal.

From the Lionsgate to the Mountains

One of the most exciting parts of this partnership is the opportunity to create a wedding day with two completely different settings.

Imagine exchanging vows surrounded by Colorado mountain views, then continuing your celebration at a historic property filled with gardens, stained glass, chandeliers, and more than a century of character.

The styled shoot gave us the chance to bring that vision to life. Blue Sky Mountain Ranch provided the breathtaking mountain setting for the ceremony, while Lionsgate offered a completely different atmosphere for the reception and celebration that followed. Together, the two locations create a wedding experience that feels both adventurous and timeless.

Bringing the Details Together

Inside Lionsgate, every detail was chosen to complement the character of the property.

The soft, flowing table linen created an elegant foundation for the reception table, while the lush florals framed the space and brought the purple and green color palette to life. The bride's dress and veil from A&BE Bridal Shop added another layer of romance, while PLC Mobile Beauty created soft, natural hair and makeup that felt perfectly at home in the setting.

Model Hana Madelena brought the vision to life, from quiet moments at the reception table to portraits throughout the property. Kelly Whitman Photography captured every detail beautifully, preserving the atmosphere of the day and all of the little moments that made the shoot feel so special.
